Walk With Me: Filling Up Lives with Purpose, Joy and Dignity

Walk With Me is a charity walk and fundraiser organised by HCA Hospice to normalise and raise awareness of palliative and end-of-life care, through the celebration of life and lives well lived. The event also seeks to raise much-needed funds to sustain HCA’s programmes, which extend care and support to the terminally ill who choose to spend their last days at home, as well as their families, who are heavily involved in their care.

We often refer to the care and support of the terminally ill as a journey that the care team takes alongside the patient and their family, pacing with them and supporting them as they move towards the finishing line. Through Walk With Me, we hope to invite all of you on a journey to support our beneficiaries, and uncover the many stories of lives well lived, that our patients have taught us along the way.

Walk with us to show your support for terminally ill patients and their caregivers. The walk is a simple one suited for people of different physical abilities, including children, seniors and those on wheelchairs.

To cater to the rapidly ageing population in Singapore, the demand for home hospice care is set to increase exponentially. As Singapore's largest home hospice care provider, it is imperative for HCA to not only increase our capacity by at least 50% from the current 2,400 patients to 3,600 patients in 2025, but also to reimagine home hospice care delivery in order to fulfil our mission of providing compassionate palliative care to end-of-life patients and their families in the comfort of their own homes.

About

HCA Hospice

HCA Hospice (HCA) is Singapore's largest home hospice care provider and is a registered charity since 1989. As a charity, we provide comfort and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, nationality and financial status.

Our core service, home hospice care, is provided at no charge to about 3,800 patients annually. As our patients vary from newly-born infants to the elderly, we also operate a Day Hospice programme for mobile patients and paediatric palliative care (Star PALS) programme for children as part of our core services. Our 24/7 hotline ensures help is available round-the-clock.

Besides medical care for patients, we provide psychological support for our patients and their caregivers as well, in the form of bereavement support and outreach programmes. As an NCSS Centre of Specialisation for palliative care, we conduct palliative care training for caregivers to equip them with the requisite skills.
